after standing around in the sun for an extra hour, we finally rolled out to the start where we were told not to stop but, to start racing once we hit RT. 20. one of our laps got cut because of a time crunch (which nobody seemed to mind). for the most part, the entire pack stayed together with an occasional break towards the front, which was soon to be counter attacked by everybody. i stayed in the front on the flats, turns, and rollers, so i could have some space of my own. to save some energy, i sat up a bit on the climbs because the inevitable slowing at the top. on the last lap, i stayed in the front hoping to catch onto a good break, no such luck. towards the end, things got heated and all of us in the front sprinted so soon and kinda gave the riders behind us the chance to pull up and out sprint the front line. after sprinting simultaneously with 80+ riders, and an average speed of 23mph, i ended up in 31st. i'm happy with it, and the experience of the race.
